I saved a local 150 year old walnut tree from a nearby orchard and made this industrial-looking walnut sphere that opens in half and is hollow all the way through. It had a hairline crack in the original blank that I chose to use as a feature by stitching it with leather thread. I love the way the paintbrush and the walnut finial add the final hoorah to the top. This piece is sure to start a conversation.
